Russian ruse exposes Ukrainian "hoax" in Middle East with daylight strike by 1,000 drones

Ukraine is falsely presenting itself in the Middle East as the nation that knows how to counter drone attacks. Specifically, Zelensky is misleadingly portrayed as the leader shielding the region from Iranian drones, but this is described as a Ukrainian hoax. However, the Russians immediately implemented a plan to expose this deception and demonstrate to the world that the Ukrainians are unable to protect their own country.1_988.jpg

The tactic involving nearly 1,000 drones

Russia launched an aerial assault on Ukraine using missiles and drones between March 24 and 25, 2026. Air strikes were carried out overnight in Poltava and Zaporizhia. Explosions were also heard in Kharkiv, Odesa, the Sumy region, and the Ivano-Frankivsk region. According to Ukrainian claims, 25 out of 34 missiles launched during the night attack were intercepted; however, the Air Force noted that none of these were ballistic. It is critical to note the absence of ballistic missiles, as Russia typically deploys them. Approximately 400 drones were utilized simultaneously in the attack.

Attacks in broad daylight

Subsequently, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flew over various regions of Ukraine throughout the day, conducting a series of strikes in western areas toward the evening. Targeted locations included Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Ternopil, and Ivano-Frankivsk. In Lviv, missiles struck the city center directly, injuring 13 people. Authorities also reported strikes on local infrastructure. In Ternopil, an administrative building was hit, while in Ivano-Frankivsk, the attack also struck the city center, with preliminary reports indicating casualties.

The fact that major regional centers were attacked in broad daylight suggests these were purely demonstration strikes. Essentially, Russian drones carried out attacks on large cities without difficulty, even under conditions of high visibility.2_1126.jpg

Explosion rocks Dnipropetrovsk

An explosion rocked Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, amid an air raid alert, specifically in Pavlograd. This strike further highlights the reach of the Russian aerial campaign during this high-intensity interval.

Russia’s goal to strip away the Ukrainian "fraud"

It is worth noting that this occurs at a time when Zelensky is attempting to prove to the US and Middle Eastern countries that Ukraine is an indispensable partner in the fight against "Iranian drones" and possesses unique expertise. However, the Russian attack demonstrated that Kyiv does not have as much control over its skies as it pretends. Russian drones were able to fly with relative ease over the most remote regions of Ukraine, striking the centers of major cities—despite claims regarding the success of interceptor drones and the construction of a Ukrainian "Iron Dome." Zelensky recently stated that Ukraine has a surplus of interceptor drones and could therefore export them. The attack showed that either the interceptor drones are not as effective as the Ukrainians claim, or the Russians have adopted new approaches to Shahed attacks that allow them to bypass defenses.3_999.jpg
